The Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Middle East

The Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Middle East is an exciting new feature on the busy regional motor racing calendar.

Based on the highly successful Porsche formula for one-make series racing, it gives the Arab world's most promising circuit racing drivers an ideal opportunity to further their international experience.

The 2009-2010 debut season saw the on-track world premiere of the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup, second generation, and 12 rounds of brilliant action shared between Bahrain International Circuit, Reem International Circuit outside Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and Yas Marina Circuit in the UAE capital, Abu Dhabi.

The stage is now set for the second edition, getting under way as part of the race support programme for November's Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi F1 Grand Prix.

The "arrive and drive" nature of championship is especially attractive for drivers whose daily routines means they have limited time to devote to their passion for motor racing.

They can head straight from the office to the circuit, swap their kandura or business suit for race overalls and helmet, step into a perfectly prepared Porsche GT3 Cup car, and race.
